Will Rogers State Historic Park to Trippet Ranch
Our small-group journey begins by hiking beyond the tourist crowds within the historic Will Rogers State Park into the secluded trails of Topanga State Park, which is the world’s largest wildland contained within the boundaries of a major city. This eastern terminus of the Backbone Trail will reward travelers with one the widest and most beautiful panoramas of Los Angeles next to miles of spectacular Pacific coastline.
Venture past millions of years of geological history as you scramble up the multi-colored sandstone formations that make up Cathedral and Eagle Rock. As one of the longest uninterrupted stretches of the Backbone Trail, hikers are likely to spot deer and other wildlife enjoying their natural surroundings.
Cap off each evening with a hearty meal, good conversation, and a restful slumber under a blanket of stars. Rolling meadows and beautiful patches of riparian woodlands will give us our final farewell as our multi-day journey comes to a close at Trippet Ranch.
